{"product_id":"pulsation-lp","title":"Pulsation [LP]","description":"\u003ch2\u003eMasahiko Togashi \u0026amp; Masayuki Takayanagi - Pulsation  [LP]\u003c\/h2\u003e\nOn May 27th 1983, drummer\nMasahiko Togashi and guitarist\nMasayuki Takayanagi, two\npivotal figures in the Japanese\nfree jazz scene that had been\nworking together since the\n1960's, performed and record\nthis unique set at Zojoji Hall in\nTokyo. At the time, Japanese\njazz musicians were trying to find\ntheir own voice, welcoming creative elements coming in from the USA and Europe.\nThe two musicians were at the fore-front of this generation, with Takayanagi\ndeveloping his own guitar style through influences of mainstream and more\nextreme jazz, and drummer Togashi had developed a unique approach to drums\nand percussions, using silence as an integral part of music making, also due to an\naccident that forced him on a wheelchair after 1970.\nThe record is divided in two tracks (\"Inner Pulsation\" and \"Outer Pulsation\"), each\none about 22 minutes in length, mirroring the original LP sides. The performance\ncan be regarded as a single piece though, with a clearly symmetrical structure,\neven if the musicians cover much musical ground over the course of the album.
