The tracks featured here were recorded in the mid- 1970s on Blaze's home reel-to-reel machine he carried with him on his travels between Texas and rural Georgia. These songs showcase Blaze's talent in early form. The album includes several of Blaze's songs now considered classics such as Cold, Cold World; Election Day; Clay Pigeons \u0026amp; If I Could Only Fly. The album also boasts three Foley songs that do not appear on any other recordings; The Way You Smile, Fat Boy, and the title track. At the time of Blaze's tragic murder in 1989 he was little known outside of Austin's renegade songwriter circles. He is now revered among the pantheon of Texas' great songwriters. Townes Van Zant and Lucinda Willliams both penned moving tributes to Blaze.
